Who goes there? The Haunt Lord is marching on to the cleansing fire to reveal himself. I am deeply delighted to announce Brian Sheehan as known as Legerdemain, vocalist and raconteur of the Fell Ruin, which released their new album ”Cast in Oil The Dressed Wrought” recently.

Could you please introduce yourself?

Brian Sheehan: I’m Brian Sheehan, creating under the moniker LGRDMN, a multimedia artist from Detroit, MI. Combining elements of photography/ photo manipulation, prop/ costume making, and digital painting to compose works of visual storytelling.

Irrespective to all meaning and embodiment of art, when you are working with artistry stuff, you’re articulating your soul to third parties whether they grasp it or not. And I know that you are a narrator, raconteur. How do you merge these elements altogether and resurrect your artisanal projects?

Brian Sheehan: It all comes together quite naturally, but not without it’s obstacles. Often guilty of wanting to include too many ideas or pieces.

Regardless of how it relates to the story being told. It’s a ton of trial and error followed by a cull of the lesser works.

Tell me about the silhouettes, drawings and visualization in your artwork. What are they representing?

Brian Sheehan: Manipulated portraiture. collaged and painted to give them a sense of otherworldliness.

The meanings vary for each project but they are always meant to be surreal yet open to interpretation.

I find it important to let the voyeur do the work.

We all have unreleased thoughts, possibly unknown parts of our subconscious which waiting to be identified, how do you express your inner willpower in a concrete manner?

Brian Sheehan: Whether it’s writing, music or visual art… everything certainly comes from a place of intent.

However, elaborating on these themes outside of the work has never been a strong suite of mine. Best I can do to convey has already been done and again, up to the voyeur to discern.

About the Fell Ruin, how does it all started?

Brian Sheehan: Jeff, Rob and August were already writing together for months.

We were friends prior, and previous bands gigged together.

They asked if I’d be interested in auditioning and never told me not to come back.

As you are liable from the lyrics of Fell Ruin, I assume your lyrics based upon a lore, could you please elaborate how do you write those lyrics in what sense?

Brian Sheehan: I’ve always been inspired by gothic horror as well as works of esotericism.

With the new album, CAST IN OIL THE DRESSED WROUGHT, I wanted to dive in head first and truly create something of my own.

What kind of realm would you like to live in other than this one you dwell?

Brian Sheehan: Honestly, this one isn’t so bad. Art is not entirely just escapism for me, but an excellent method when needed.

Sometimes I think that the world have catharsis moment in a periodical time scale, where an energy bursts, annihilate and then restore. Obviously major impacts on environment comprises every animated creature including humanity. My question is that, do you find equilibrium in devilry and kindness?

Brian Sheehan: Of course. Though the world is in short supply of kindness, the devilry helps one appreciate the other. The old “no light without darkness” rings more true with age.

Could it be possible that we live in a story written by someone else?

Brian Sheehan: I hope not. I feel empowered and responsible by my actions. The thought of “fate” and someone else pulling the strings is disheartening at best.

Most of the people only respond to fear and pain in an excessive manner, because communities must be hold under control to become obedient. As an artist, how did you unshackle of your limitations and become the person you always asked for?

Brian Sheehan: By actively trying to relinquish my inhibitions and any restraints I have.

I find it super important to hold and work in a space that is my own without distractions.

Not only does it aid in productivity but authenticity as well.

Could you tell me what makes a person honorable?

Brian Sheehan: Staying true to one’s convictions.

Not to say one can’t change and grow, but oftentimes you see folks changing their beliefs and commitments with the winds.

Let’s assume that, you, Brian Sheehan, were living in the corrupted dark ages as a renowned, almighty & wealthy Lord, what would you occupied with in your free time?

Brian Sheehan: Hard to say for sure. I’d like to think that I’d use that fortune to patron the arts and do well for my fellow man.

Though history shows that wasn’t always the case for those in power.

Any last words you would like to say?
